The information we collect
We only collect personal information that we need in order to respond to you and run our website. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Information you give us directly — for example when you contact us by phone or email, request a quote, or submit a review through our website. This typically includes your name, contact details (email address and/or phone number), and any details you choose to share about your project or experience.
- Information collected automatically — when you visit the website we collect limited technical and usage information, such as your device type, browser, approximate location, and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand how visitors use it (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
How we use your information and our legal basis
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We rely on the following:
- To respond to enquiries and provide quotes or services — on the basis of taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to potential and existing customers.
- To display reviews and testimonials you submit — on the basis of your consent, given when you submit a review.
- To keep our website secure and prevent spam — on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the site and our visitors.
- To measure website traffic and improve the site — analytics cookies are used only with your consent; privacy-friendly, cookieless usage measurement is used on the basis of our legitimate interest (see below).
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, described below.
Your choices
When you first visit the website, a cookie banner lets you Accept or Reject non-essential (analytics) cookies. No analytics cookies are set unless you choose to accept them. You can change your decision at any time using the “Cookie settings” link, which reopens the banner.

Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website (for example which pages are most popular). Google Analytics sets the cookies listed above and processes data on our behalf. We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google Analytics does not store analytics cookies or collect this data until you accept. Some data may be transferred to Google servers outside the UK; Google provides safeguards for such transfers. You can read Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Privacy-friendly traffic measurement
We also use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool provided by our website partner, WS Media, to measure overall website traffic. This tool does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect information that identifies you personally — it only produces aggregate visitor statistics.
Spam protection
When you submit a form on our website (such as a review), we use Akismet, a spam-filtering service provided by Automattic, to help detect and block spam submissions. To do this, Akismet processes the information submitted in the form along with your IP address. You can read Automattic’s privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary with trusted service providers who help us run our business and website, including our website hosting and technical partner (WS Media), and the analytics and spam-protection providers described above. These providers act on our instructions and are required to keep your information secure. We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — for example, for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and provide our services, to keep records of work carried out, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Reviews and testimonials are kept for as long as they are displayed on the website or until you ask us to remove them. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete your information (“right to erasure”);
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information;
- Request a copy of certain information in a portable format;
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (such as for analytics cookies).
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, we would ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
- Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
